CTE (Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy)
Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) is a progressive brain condition caused by repeated head injuries or blows, often seen in athletes like football players or boxers. Over time, these injuries lead to the accumulation of an abnormal protein called tau, which damages brain cells. Symptoms include memory loss, mood changes, difficulty thinking, and behavioral problems. CTE can only be diagnosed definitively after death through brain tissue analysis. It highlights the risks associated with repeated head trauma and underscores the importance of protective measures and early medical attention for head injuries.
