CTC (Cut-Tear-Curl)
CTC, or Cut-Tear-Curl, is a processing method used in producing textiles, especially cotton yarns. It involves three main steps: first, the cotton fibers are cut into short lengths; second, these pieces are gently torn apart to create uniform fiber bundles; and third, the fibers are curled or twisted to improve their strength and flexibility. This process enhances the yarn’s quality, making it more uniform and better suited for weaving or knitting fabrics. CTC is often employed in high-volume fabric industries for efficient and consistent yarn production from raw cotton.
