CSF analysis

CSF analysis involves examining cerebrospinal fluid, the clear liquid surrounding the brain and spinal cord, to diagnose neurological conditions. A small amount of this fluid is collected through a procedure called a lumbar puncture or spinal tap. The lab then checks the CSF for signs of infection, inflammation, bleeding, or abnormal cells, and measures chemicals like glucose and protein levels. This information helps doctors identify issues such as infections, multiple sclerosis, or bleeding in the brain, providing valuable insights into conditions affecting the central nervous system.
