Crab traps
Crab traps are specially designed cages used by fishermen to catch crabs. They are typically made of sturdy wire or mesh, allowing crabs to enter but making it difficult for them to escape. The traps often contain bait, like fish or chicken, to attract crabs inside. Once a crab enters, a one-way door prevents its exit. Crab traps are placed on the ocean or estuary beds and left for periods before being pulled up to retrieve the catch. They are an efficient, sustainable way to harvest crab populations with minimal impact on the environment.
