Corns and calluses

Corns and calluses are thickened areas of skin that develop due to repeated pressure or friction. Calluses are broader, less focused patches, typically on the soles of feet or palms, forming as a protective response. Corns are smaller, often with a central core, usually found on toes or fingers, and can be more painful. Both serve to protect underlying tissues but can become uncomfortable or infected if they worsen. Proper footwear, avoiding excessive pressure, and regular care can prevent and manage these skin thickening issues.
