Corinthian War

The Corinthian War (395–387 BC) was a conflict between Athens, Thebes, Corinth, and Argos against Sparta, after Sparta's dominance following the Peloponnesian War. The allied cities sought to challenge Spartan control over Greece's mainland. Despite initial successes, the war ended with the Peace of Antalcidas, which favored Sparta, restoring its hegemony. The conflict highlighted the fragile balance of power among Greek city-states and marked the decline of Athenian influence, ultimately leading to Spartan dominance until Thebes rose to prominence later.
