Copperhead

Copperhead was a brand name for a type of snakebite antivenom produced in the United States, specifically designed to treat bites from copperhead snakes (a common pit viper). It was a purified antibody-based serum that helped neutralize venom effects. However, it was voluntarily withdrawn from the market in 2018 due to manufacturing issues and safety concerns related to allergic reactions. Now, other antivenoms are used to treat copperhead bites, but Copperhead itself is no longer available. Its development and withdrawal highlight ongoing challenges in creating effective and safe antivenoms for snakebites.
