Copper T

The Copper T (or Copper IUD) is a small, T-shaped device inserted into the uterus to prevent pregnancy. It works mainly by releasing copper, which creates a toxic environment for sperm, reducing the chance of fertilization. Additionally, it may cause slight inflammation in the uterus, making it less friendly for a fertilized egg to implant. The Copper T is a highly effective, long-term, hormone-free contraceptive method that can stay in place for several years. It is reversible; fertility usually returns quickly once removed.
