Congressional Black Caucus
The Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) is a group of Black members of the U.S. Congress who work together to promote policies and initiatives that address issues affecting African Americans and marginalized communities. Founded in 1971, it aims to influence legislation on areas like civil rights, economic opportunity, education, and social justice. The CBC provides a united voice within Congress to advocate for racial equality, social justice, and improved opportunities, while also supporting the interests of Black constituents nationwide. It is a nonpartisan organization that fosters collaboration among its members regardless of their political party.
