Confidence trick
A confidence trick, often called a con, is a deceptive scheme where a person gains the victim's trust to trick them into giving away money or personal information. The con artist typically uses charm, persuasion, or a fabricated story to create a false sense of security. Once the victim is convinced of the con artist's credibility, they may hand over their assets or reveal confidential information, believing they are making a safe choice. These scams can take many forms, from fake investments to phony lottery wins, but all rely on manipulating the victim's trust and confidence.
