Confidence and Supply Agreement
A Confidence and Supply Agreement is a formal arrangement between a smaller party (often with fewer seats in parliament) and a larger party to support the larger party's government. The smaller party agrees to back the government on key votes—such as budgets and confidence motions—in exchange for certain policy concessions or promises. This arrangement helps the government maintain stability without needing an outright majority. While it is not a full coalition, it ensures the government can function smoothly and pass essential legislation while allowing both parties to negotiate priorities.
