The Separatists built a vast fleet of droids and ships, initiating a large-scale conflict called the Clone Wars against the Republic's forces. This coalition was characterized by its use of clone armies, droid armies, and strategic alliances to challenge centralized authority, playing a crucial role in the galactic civil war depicted in the prequel trilogy.
