Concert of Europe
The Concert of Europe was a 19th-century system of diplomatic cooperation among major European powers—like Britain, Russia, Austria, Prussia, and France—after the Napoleonic Wars. Its goal was to maintain peace and balance of power by consulting and working together to settle disputes and prevent future conflicts. The system relied on diplomacy, regular meetings, and mutual respect, aiming to preserve stability in Europe. Although it helped avoid large-scale wars for several decades, it eventually weakened with rising nationalism and changing alliances, leading to the outbreak of World War I.
