Computer Vision Syndrome

Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS) refers to a group of eye and vision-related problems caused by prolonged use of computers, tablets, or smartphones. Symptoms include eye strain, headaches, blurred vision, dry eyes, and neck or shoulder discomfort. It occurs because staring at screens reduces blinking, leading to dry eyes, and the close-up focus strains eye muscles. To prevent CVS, take regular breaks using the 20-20-20 rule (look 20 feet away for 20 seconds every 20 minutes), ensure proper lighting, and maintain an ergonomic workspace. If symptoms persist, consult an eye care professional.
