Complementary Feeding
Complementary feeding is the process of introducing solid foods and liquids other than breast milk or formula to a baby’s diet, typically around six months of age. It helps meet the growing nutritional needs that breast milk alone can no longer fulfill. This stage involves gradually increasing the variety, texture, and quantity of foods while continuing breastfeeding or formula feeding. The goal is to promote healthy growth, development, and the ability to eat a variety of nutritious foods, preparing the child for a balanced diet as they grow older.
