Communism in Poland

Communism in Poland, from 1945 to 1989, was a political system where the government controlled the economy, property, and many aspects of daily life, aiming to create a classless society. Influenced by the Soviet Union, Poland’s Communist regime centralized power, suppressed political dissent, and prioritized collective ownership over private enterprise. Despite efforts to modernize and improve living standards, the system faced economic difficulties and limited freedoms, leading to widespread dissatisfaction. The movement for change culminated in the peaceful transition to democracy in 1989, ending Communist rule and restoring political and economic liberties.
