Commission for Historical Clarification (CEH)

The Commission for Historical Clarification (CEH) was an organization established in 1994 in Guatemala to investigate human rights abuses and atrocities committed during the country's civil war (1960-1996). Its goal was to uncover the truth about violations committed by both government forces and insurgent groups, recognize victims, and promote national reconciliation. The CEH produced a comprehensive report that documented abuses, acknowledged the suffering of victims, and emphasized the importance of acknowledging past injustices to prevent future violence.
