Comitato di liberazione nazionale (CLN)

The Comitato di Liberazione Nazionale (CLN) was an Italian resistance organization formed during World War II to oppose fascist rule and Nazi occupation. Comprising political groups like communists, liberals, Catholics, and others, it coordinated efforts to restore Italy's independence and democracy. Acting as a unified front, the CLN led underground resistance activities, organized sabotage, and supported the Italian partisan movement against occupying forces. Recognized as Italy’s legitimate representing body during the war, the CLN played a key role in Italy's liberation and the transition to democracy in the post-war period.
