Color rendition index (CRI)

The Color Rendering Index (CRI) measures how accurately a light source reveals the colors of objects compared to natural light. It is scored from 0 to 100, with higher values indicating colors appear more true-to-life under that lighting. For example, a light with a high CRI makes reds look red, blues look blue, and so on, while a low CRI can distort colors, making things look dull or off. CRI is important in settings like art galleries, retail, or photography, where color accuracy is essential.
