Colon Polyps

Colon polyps are growths that develop on the inner lining of the colon (large intestine). They are usually benign (non-cancerous), but some can develop into colorectal cancer over time if left untreated. Polyps vary in size and shape and are often found during routine screenings like colonoscopies. Most people have no symptoms, but larger polyps might cause bleeding or changes in bowel habits. Removal of polyps is important to prevent potential progression to cancer. Regular screenings are recommended, especially for individuals over age 50 or with risk factors, to detect and eliminate polyps early.
