COLMAP is a software tool used to reconstruct 3D models from a collection of photographs. It analyzes multiple images taken from different angles, identifies common features, and calculates the positions of the cameras and the spatial arrangement of the objects in the scene. This process, called structure-from-motion and multi-view stereo, enables the creation of detailed 3D models without special equipment, just from regular photos.
