Cold case units

Cold case units are specialized teams within law enforcement agencies that focus on unresolved criminal cases, particularly homicides and missing persons, that have not been solved after a long period. These cases are referred to as "cold" because they receive little or no attention over time. Cold case units revisit these cases using new investigative techniques, advancements in forensic science, and fresh perspectives. Their goal is to uncover new evidence or leads that can lead to resolution, providing justice for victims and closure for their families.
