Cognitive Model
A cognitive model is a mental framework that explains how our thoughts, perceptions, and beliefs influence our emotions and behaviors. It illustrates the connection between what we think (our interpretations and beliefs), how we feel, and how we act. For example, if someone believes they are incapable, they might feel anxious and avoid challenges. Cognitive models help identify and change unhelpful thought patterns, promoting healthier emotions and actions. They are used in therapy and self-help to better understand and modify the ways we interpret experiences, ultimately improving mental well-being.
