Codman Triangle

The Codman Triangle is a radiological sign seen in certain bone tumors, particularly osteosarcoma. It appears as a triangular area of new bone formation on an X-ray, showcasing the body’s response to a tumor as it grows. This occurs where the tumor disrupts the normal bone structure, leading to an elevation of the periosteum (the tissue covering bones) and new bone creation underneath. The triangle's presence suggests a more aggressive tumor and helps doctors in diagnosing and determining the severity of bone conditions, guiding further treatment approaches.
