Coalition of Australian Governments (COAG)

The Coalition of Australian Governments (COAG) was an agreement involving the federal and state governments of Australia aimed at facilitating cooperation and addressing key national issues. Established in 1992, COAG brought together leaders to discuss and coordinate policies on areas like health, education, and infrastructure. Its goal was to improve service delivery and enhance outcomes for Australians by ensuring all levels of government worked collaboratively. COAG was replaced by the National Federation Reform Council in 2020, reflecting a shift in focus to more collaborative and flexible arrangements among governments.
