clinical pastoral education
Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) is a training program for chaplains and spiritual care providers that combines direct patient care experiences with supervised reflection and education. Participants, often from various religious backgrounds, volunteer in healthcare settings to offer emotional and spiritual support to patients and families. Through guided discussions with peers and supervisors, they explore their personal beliefs, enhance their pastoral skills, and learn to address the diverse spiritual needs of those they serve. CPE helps prepare individuals to provide compassionate and competent care in challenging environments, fostering personal growth and professional development in spiritual leadership.
