CIN 1

CIN 1, or Cervical Intraepithelial Neoplasia grade 1, is a term used to describe mild abnormal changes in the cells on the surface of the cervix, often caused by a temporary infection with the human papillomavirus (HPV). These changes are usually considered low-grade and tend to resolve on their own without treatment. Regular monitoring through follow-up Pap smears or HPV tests is recommended to ensure the abnormal cells don't progress. CIN 1 is generally not cancer, but it indicates the presence of cell changes that require careful observation.
