Chushul

Chushul is a village located in the eastern part of Ladakh, India, near the Line of Actual Control with China. It sits at an elevation of about 3,600 meters (11,800 feet) and is strategically important due to its proximity to border areas involved in India-China border disputes. Historically, Chushul has been a key point for trade and military movement between India and Tibet. Its high-altitude terrain features rugged mountains and plateaus, making it challenging to access. Today, Chushul remains significant for regional security, border infrastructure, and local livelihoods rooted in agriculture and pastoralism.
