Chronic Interstitial Pneumonia Radiology
Chronic interstitial pneumonia is a lung condition characterized by inflammation and scarring in the tissue between the air sacs (alveoli). On imaging, such as chest X-rays or CT scans, it appears as a pattern of irregular lines or shadows in the lungs, indicating damage and fibrosis. This can make breathing difficult and lead to long-term respiratory issues. Diagnosis often involves comparing the radiological findings with clinical symptoms and sometimes requires lung biopsies to understand the underlying cause of the inflammation and guide treatment.
