Chronic Coronary Syndrome

Chronic Coronary Syndrome (CCS) is a condition where the blood flow to the heart muscle is gradually reduced due to narrowing of the coronary arteries, often caused by atherosclerosis. This leads to chest discomfort or pain, especially during physical activity or stress, as the heart doesn't get enough oxygen-rich blood. Unlike a heart attack, CCS involves stable symptoms that tend to occur consistently over time. Managing CCS typically includes lifestyle changes, medications, and sometimes procedures like angioplasty to improve blood flow, reducing the risk of complications such as heart damage or sudden heart attacks.
