Christian Hülsmeyer
Christian Hülsmeyer was a German inventor best known for developing the first radar system in the early 20th century. In 1904, he created a device called the “Telemobiloscope,” which could detect the presence of ships, even in poor visibility conditions like fog. His innovation laid the groundwork for later radar technology, which would be crucial in aviation and military applications. Although Hülsmeyer faced challenges in securing patents and commercial success, his pioneering work significantly influenced navigation and safety at sea and later contributed to advancements in various fields, including weather monitoring and space exploration.
