Christian Gnosticism
Christian Gnosticism is a spiritual movement from early Christianity that emphasizes secret knowledge (gnosis) as the path to salvation. Gnostics believe that the material world is flawed or created by a lesser deity, often called the Demiurge, and that true divine enlightenment comes through inner spiritual insight. They view Jesus as a divine messenger who reveals this hidden knowledge to liberate souls trapped in physical bodies. Unlike orthodox Christianity, which focuses on faith in Jesus' death and resurrection, Gnosticism emphasizes personal spiritual awakening and understanding as the key to reuniting with the divine source.
