Chorea
Chorea is a neurological condition characterized by involuntary, unpredictable, and jerky movements that can flow from one muscle group to another. These movements occur because of abnormal signals in the brain, often linked to problems in the basal ganglia, an area that helps regulate movement. Chorea is commonly associated with conditions like Huntington’s disease, but can also result from other factors such as certain medications or metabolic disorders. While the movements are involuntary, they can interfere with daily activities and coordination, and managing the underlying cause can help reduce symptoms.
