Chora (philosophy)
In philosophy, "Chora" refers to a concept introduced by the ancient Greek philosopher Plato, particularly in his dialogue "Timaeus." It describes a space or receptacle that exists as a kind of intermediary between the physical world and the realm of forms or ideals. Chora is often interpreted as a formless and chaotic space where things take shape but do not have fixed identities. It serves as a metaphor for the potentiality and the dynamic nature of reality, suggesting that while forms are pure and unchanging, the material world is more fluid, dependent on context and change.
