China National Tourism Administration

The China National Tourism Administration (CNTA) was the government body responsible for overseeing and promoting tourism in China. Established to boost domestic and international travel, CNTA developed policies, managed tourism-related resources, and promoted Chinese culture and attractions to global travelers. It facilitated infrastructure development, ensured quality standards in the tourism sector, and worked on environmental sustainability. Although it was restructured into the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in 2018, its legacy continues to influence how tourism is managed and promoted throughout China today.
