China Inland Mission

The China Inland Mission (CIM) was a Christian missionary organization founded in 1865 by Hudson Taylor. Its primary goal was to spread Christianity throughout China, particularly in the interior regions that were less accessible to Western missionaries. CIM emphasized cultural adaptation, encouraging missionaries to learn local languages and customs. Over the years, it grew significantly, sending thousands of missionaries and establishing numerous churches and schools. The organization played a crucial role in the church's growth in China before the communist takeover in 1949, and it eventually transformed into the Overseas Missionary Fellowship, continuing its mission in other countries.
