Chigi Chapel

The Chigi Chapel is a beautifully decorated religious space located within Rome’s Ambrosian Library, designed by the famous Renaissance artist Raphael. Built between 1516 and 1518, it features elaborate frescoes depicting biblical stories and Christian themes, showcasing Raphael’s masterful technique. The chapel was commissioned by Pope Leo X for his family, the Chigi. Its interior combines classical architecture with vibrant, detailed paintings that illustrate scenes from the Bible, creating a harmonious and inspiring spiritual environment.
