Chickenpox
Chickenpox is a highly contagious viral infection caused by the varicella-zoster virus. It primarily affects children but can also occur in adults. The virus spreads through respiratory droplets from coughs or sneezes, or through direct contact with the blisters. Symptoms include an itchy red rash, fever, and fatigue. The rash typically develops into fluid-filled blisters before crusting over. While chickenpox usually resolves on its own, complications can occur, especially in older adults or those with weakened immune systems. Vaccination is effective in preventing the disease and reducing the severity of symptoms if contracted.
