Chasquis
Chasquis were the agile messengers of the Inca Empire, known for their speed and endurance. They played a crucial role in communication across the vast territory by running long distances, often between 10 to 15 miles at a time, before passing messages to another chasqui. These messages could include important news, military orders, or information about resources. The chasquis utilized a network of physical relay stations called "tambos" for rest and supplies, ensuring information traveled quickly through the mountainous terrain. Their efficient system was vital for maintaining the cohesion and administration of the expansive empire.
