Charles Stuart, known as Bonnie Prince Charlie, was a Scottish prince born in 1720. He is famous for leading the Jacobite uprising in 1745, aiming to restore his father, King James II of England and VII of Scotland, to the throne. His campaign, called the 'Forty-five Rebellion,' sought to revive the Stuart monarchy but ultimately failed at the Battle of Culloden. Despite the defeat, he remains a romantic and symbolic figure in Scottish history, representing a fight for royal restoration and cultural identity.
