Charles IV of France

Charles IV of France, also known as Charles the Beloved, reigned from 1380 until 1422. He was the son of Charles III and the first king from the Valois dynasty to inherit the French throne after the last Capetian king. His reign faced challenges like the Hundred Years' War with England and internal conflicts. Charles IV is noted for his efforts to strengthen royal authority, improve governance, and expand trade. Despite his ambitions, political instability and regional unrest marked his rule. He died without a male heir, leading to succession disputes and further strife in France.
