Chandrayaan (India)

Chandrayaan is India’s lunar exploration mission launched by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). Its primary goal is to study the Moon’s surface, especially the south pole region, to understand its mineral composition, geology, and presence of water ice. Chandrayaan-1, launched in 2008, helped discover water molecules on the Moon, while Chandrayaan-2, launched in 2019, included an orbiter, lander, and rover to gather detailed data. These missions enhance scientific knowledge about the Moon and demonstrate India’s capabilities in space technology.
