Chambers (in the context of law)
In law, "Chambers" refers to the private office of a judge or a group of judges where they handle administrative matters, conduct hearings, or deliberate on cases away from the courtroom. It is a space for discussions, legal research, and decision-making regarding case management, often involving motions or pre-trial issues. Chambers assist in streamlining court processes and may include staff such as clerks and legal assistants. Importantly, chambers proceedings generally happen out of public view, maintaining confidentiality before issues are formally presented in court.
