Chamber
A chamber is a specialized space within the body that helps perform specific functions. For example, in the heart, chambers are the four compartments that contract to pump blood—two atria and two ventricles. These chambers coordinate to ensure blood flows efficiently through the lungs and the rest of the body. The term is also used in other contexts, like a chamber of a government (a legislative body) or a machine enclosure. Essentially, a chamber is a designated enclosed area designed for particular physiological or structural roles.
