Chaldea

Chaldea was an ancient region located in southern Mesopotamia, primarily in what is now southern Iraq. It emerged around the 10th century BCE and became prominent due to its rich culture and contributions to astronomy, mathematics, and early writing. The Chaldeans were known for their expertise in astrology and their role in the Babylonian civilization, especially during the Neo-Babylonian period. The famous ruler Nebuchadnezzar II, who is often associated with the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, was a Chaldean. Chaldea played a significant role in the development of early civilization and has influenced many aspects of modern culture and science.
