Centuriation

Centuriation is an ancient Roman land division system, used primarily for organizing agricultural land. It involved surveying and dividing land into a grid-like pattern of square or rectangular plots, often measuring 100 by 100 Roman feet, called "centuriae." This systematic approach allowed for efficient land distribution, management, and taxation, making agriculture more productive.
