Cenozoic Era
The Cenozoic Era, often called the "Age of Mammals," is the current geological period, beginning around 66 million years ago after the extinction of the dinosaurs. It has seen the rise of mammals, birds, and flowering plants, along with significant changes in Earth's climate and geography. During this era, continents drifted to their present positions, and Earth's climate varied from warm and humid to cooler periods. The Cenozoic also includes the development of humans, making it the most recent and familiar chapter in Earth's geological history.
