CD Tenerife is a professional football club based in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, in the Canary Islands, Spain. Founded in 1912, the team plays its home matches at Estadio Heliodoro Rodríguez López. CD Tenerife has a passionate fan base and competes primarily in the Spanish Segunda División, the second tier of Spanish football. The club has experienced both promotion to La Liga, the top division, and relegation over the years. Their colors are blue and white, and they are known as "Los Chicharreros," a nod to the local nickname for the inhabitants of Tenerife.
