Cavour

Camillo di Cavour was a 19th-century Italian statesman and key architect of Italy's unification. As Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Sardinia, he skillfully used diplomacy and strategic alliances, notably with France, to weaken Austrian influence in Italy. Cavour sought to modernize Italy’s economy and structure, encouraging political and social reforms. His leadership helped unify various Italian states into a single nation, laying the groundwork for the modern Italian state. Often regarded as a master diplomat, Cavour's efforts were instrumental in transforming Italy from a collection of fragmented regions into a unified country.
