Cassini Division

The Cassini Division is a large, dark gap between Saturn's two biggest moons, Titan and Rhea. It appears as a wide, empty space in the rings and is caused by gravitational interactions with Saturn’s moon, Mimas. Mimas's gravity influences the particles in the rings, clearing out material at certain orbital distances, creating this divide. This separation helps scientists understand the complex gravitational forces shaping Saturn's rings and the dynamic interactions between the planet, its moons, and ring particles.
